The bollen series is a series of over 230 variaties of one scan.
I generated these images from a scanned pattern in a dried painting. Small glitches formed in that scan, which I then started to edit. Because the possibilities of digital editing are endless I couldn't stop myself from making more images. The enormous variaty that arose made quite a visual impact. I eventually chose 6 images to be printed.
The project I made these images for started with the subject of food, and I wanted to capture my vision on it in a graphic project. Because these images look like organisms seen under a microscope I could make a link back to the food subject.
These images are very different from each other and because of that they really present a varied picture of my graphic interpretations in this project.
